Glazes
A paint glaze is a non-abrasive detailing and valeting product that’s technically not classed as a polish or compound because it will not cut paintwork to physically level the surface finish. Instead, a glaze will level the optical finish by filling and obscuring minor defects, leaving behind a clear layer over the top that makes paintwork appear even more wet and glossy.
A glaze creates a level finish by filling in all the bumps and divots on a microscopic level. Light is allowed to shine through and bounce back to the eye uniformly, without being noticeably diffracted by any defects. This makes the surface appear to be deeper and glossier. While utilising a hard wax to finish paintwork also uses the same principles to level the optical finish, a wax will always be more aesthetically pleasing when a glaze is used to enhance the finish underneath.
Our Ultra Glaze Paint Glaze uses super-advanced acrylic polymers in this way to achieve a concours finish by bringing clarity and a high gloss to paintwork. This car care enhancement product has been specifically developed for deepening darker colours, enhancing the sparkle of metallic finishes and intensifying reds, making them appear more fiery. Ultra Glaze is suitable for application by hand or with a machine polisher and is best used a final finisher before the use of a wax-based protection product.
Tripple All-in-One Polish also contains glazing agents to fill and obscure light scratching. Added to the fact that it’s also packed with carnauba wax, to leave behind a layer of protection, this is the reason it is denoted an ‘all-in-one’ polish.
In addition, this category includes Rejuvenate Paintwork Cleanser. although not strictly a glaze, this surface preparation product has been developed to enhance both the beauty and performance of our Signature Waxes. This abrasive pre-wax cleanser made up of a blend of glazing oils, deep-cleansing solvents and fine diminishing abrasives capable of removing light swirl marks, oxidation and other stubborn contaminants. This ‘easy on and off’ formula is suitable for application by hand or machine polisher and is engineered as a next-generation cleanser to be utilised immediately before the protection stage to create the perfect foundation for wax bonding.
