AF BMW M2 Competition Showcased At Goodwood FOS 2024
The Goodwood Festival Of Speed is easily one of the most anticipated events on the UK calendar. With around half a million visitors over 3-days this annual motorsports festival is what you might call a big deal for the car world.
While the FOS has become the place to be for all sorts of mainstream car manufacturers and big-money motorsport companies to show off their wares over the last 30-odd years, you’ll also find many tuning firms featuring a whole host of rare race cars you won’t see anywhere else. And that's without what's going on up the hill. The FOS is a car celebrity-filled extravaganza of all things motorsport, and one of the world’s premier events for racing aficionados, tuning enthusiasts and even the general public.
We’ve been invited to display our cars at many a Festival of Speed, most recently our Super Silhouette S15 on the Liberty Walk stand at the FOS 2022, and again with a whole new livery with Rotiform for the FOS 2023. So, when Regal Autosport invited us to display our extensively modified, track-focused BMW M2 Competition on their stand, we decided a whole new look was in order…
Now, it has to be said that we’ve built up quite the team of specialists that get involved in our builds. A dream team we’ve put together over many years of curating our - now rather large - AF project fleet. When it comes to creating a look like none other for our racing liveries, we always collaborate with Blackfish Graphics in Germany and the guys at Identity Wraps here in the UK.
Let’s just say that they’re no strangers to performing miracles shortly before our cars hitting an event – after all, these were the guys who transformed our Datsun GX and LTO E36 BMW drift cars just hours before they were shipped to Poland to make their world debut at Ultrace 2024.
With their help, once again, our M2 Competition made it the ball on time, and all was left for us was to break out the Rapid Rinseless Wash for some light detailing before the gates open. Luckily this is the perfect product for showtime detailing, eh?
But aside from the awesome new look, our BMW has seen a few other recent upgrades, too…
The F87 M2 already had a mighty spec of course, you can read more about the evolution of our in-house track destroyer in our article: Project Spotight: BMW M2 Competition.
Modified by the guys at Regal with massive AP Racing Brakes, a WaveTrac LSD and a whole load of race spec goodies from CSF, this fully-caged, 532bhp, carbon-clad monster is quite the track weapon. But, just before the most recent livery, we’ve also added few finer details including a race-spec Motion TCO coilover kit, custom downturns on our titanium Akrapovic exhaust and a set of Forged Titan 7 T-D6E wheels shod in Dunlop Direzza 0G3 rubber. Suffice to say that we just can’t wait to get this out at more shows and trackdays over the coming season… starting right here at the world-famous Festival of Speed.
