Petrol Brothers 2023

We just love the guys at Petrol Brothers, and that's simply because they lay on some of the friendliest, laid-back family shows of the year. This uber cool car club spreads over the whole of Belgium… although obviously every one of their meets are hugely popular and attract cars from all over Europe, not least a couple of our very own AF Project Cars.

Petrol Brothers are perhaps most well known for their penchant for the VAG contingent and a whole load of other European cars, but they're actually open to all - the only real rule is no standard cars… and we kinda like that.

Anyway, they've been going strong for a good few seasons now so when they called us up to tell us about their latest event, the "PTRLBRTHRS High Quality Water- & Aircooled Car Show' we made the decision to be there quicker than they could finish the actual name of the show. Of course, it doesn't hurt that this event was also taking place in the grounds of the stunning Castle Hernieuwenburg in West Flanders. This venue is now actually the town hall of the picturesque town of Wielsbeke and it certainly gave this event a uniquely relaxed feel.

All that atmosphere is important though, because if every car show was balls-to-the-wall action from end to end, life would get pretty boring, wouldn't it? Yep, sometimes you've just got to chill out. And this sort of family friendly event is ideal for a spot of summertime relaxation.

It's also why our Managing Director and Operations Director, James and Sian, would not only be making the trip in their personal collection of Stuttgart's finest (their 992 GTS and old skool 993) but they also brought along the youngest, and certainly the most important, members of TeamAF - their daughters Delphi and Neive.

All that was left to do was load up our bagged VW Transporter with the world's top detailing products and make the short hop under the channel to get set up…

It has to be said that plenty our easiest-to-use showtime essentials like Crystal Glass Cleaner, Finale Quick Detailer, Ceramic Spray Wax and Satin Tyre Crème go down extremely well at this kind of event, not to mention our range of accessories and merchandise, so as always we do our best to open up early so other show car owners can grab all the products they need to sort out their cars before the public roll in. This time we also brought along a special preview of our new products, including our Car Care Worldwide Hoodie and 2 Stack Hoodie, with limited numbers available before they even hit our online store.

At this point of course, we also spend a little time perfecting the finish of our own vehicles on display, just to keep them sparking all day long.

There's nothing quite like a totally chilled summer afternoon in sunny Belgium, and we'll certainly be back for the next one, that's for sure!
