Tucked At The Manor 2024
Tucked At The Manor is now in its third year and it’s an awesome event that offers one of the most unique venues of all the car shows here in the UK. Instead of a racetrack, airfield or convention centre, this one takes place at a house, a great big house, in the country. Actually, it’s more than big. The show takes over the grounds of the massive Turvey House, a stately home in Bedfordshire set in 150 acres of England’s green and pleasant land. So, it’s what you might call a bit different from the norm. It’s also one of the most laidback events on the calendar.
That’s not a bad thing, though. After quite the full-on Saturday on the famous Goodwood Circuit at the FlatSix Porsche Show, it’s rather nice to spend a leisurely Sunday being the headline sponsor at one of the most chilled events in the business. All we had to do was set our T2 Bus Pop-Up Store and let our professional detailers lend a hand - and a few of the world’s best detailing products - with some of the cars on display around the event. Very rarely do we have it this easy at any car show.
To show our support we also brought along something that’s also a little different from the norm. Our stand also featured our latest project build – the mighty 2JZ-powered LTO BMW E36 Drift Car. This one would be making its second show appearance, and the first in the UK, having just been shipped back from storming the arena at Ultrace in Poland. Aside from that little lot, it was just a case of kicking back and enjoying one of our favourite UK events…
The great thing about the Tucked Automotive brand, you might say their raison d’etre, is that they’re open to all. Any project car, streeter or full-on show build can apply to be a part of their collection of events over the course of the season and, as you can imagine, that brings with it quite the variety of top cars to see. Especially here at Tucked At The Manor. The truth is that what you’ll find here is just about every modifying style you can think of, even if one or two don’t particularly suit the rather posh surroundings. But we like that. A lot.
Anyway, the thing about this particular event is that it’s as much a vibe as it is a static car show. For a show that prides itself on being so laid-back that it’s almost going backwards, the standard of cars is right up there with the biggest events in the UK and Europe. And, what’s more, they’re all battling it out for a whole collection of trophies from the organisers – some of the most coveted trophies on the UK car scene in fact. Let’s take a look at a load of our favourites…
As we said there was a whole collection of trophies up for grabs but, naturally, the one that matters most is our Sponsor’s Choice Award. Although it’s never easy to judge, not with the massive collection of showstoppers we have to choose from when Tucked lay on a show. Still, we pondered, argued a bit, and then pondered some more. And in the end we just had to give it to one of the rarest cars out there – this stunning modified Ford GT40 owned by Andrew Taylor. What a motor this one is!
The word ‘jawdropping’ just doesn’t seem to come close with this amazing classic. It’s a good job that Andrew’s not only got our trophy and our custom pinstriped Sponsor’s Choice plaque but a Deluxe Holdall crammed with top detailing products to keep it looking its best. A worthy winner and no mistake.
And if that’s not the best way to spend a (uncharacteristically relaxing) Sunday, we don’t know what is. We almost can’t wait to kick back and enjoy the next event from the guys at Tucked. We’re kind of wondering what they’ll come up with for the next one. If you fancy heading to Tucked At The Manor 2025, which we know you do, keep an eye on the Tucked Automotive Website for upcoming announcements.
