Even more that your wheels, engine bays are typically filthy places, especially on daily drivers and cars being used during the winter months. But even so, many people skip washing their bay during their detail… which is a shame, because we have the car care essentials to make a swift transformation easier than ever.
When ‘wet washing’ engine bays, the process should be carried out at the very beginning of your detail (even before your wheel cleaning and pre wash) to prevent contaminating clean areas of the vehicle. If you clean your bay at the end of your wet work, you invariably risk dragging some of the worst contaminants to the areas that you’ve already finished, meaning they will have to be re-washed.
When it comes to the physical removal of contaminants, engines are typically smothered in the heaviest oil-based contaminants of all, so require particularly powerful cleaners and plenty of agitation. For this reason, we offer hard-hitting detailing products like Eradicate Engine Degreaser, a high-foaming solution designed to tackle the worst grease and grime that you’ll find under any bonnet.
Eradicate Engine Degreaser is safe to use on all surfaces in the engine bay, from hard plastics to bare metal, paintwork and rubber trim. This product has also been developed for quick and easy application. Simply spray liberally over the entire area, use a Detailing Brush to agitate in an around tight, awkward areas (while the product breaks down greasy contaminants and holds them in the degreasing solution), and then safely rinse away the grime.
Alternatively, slightly less stained and contaminated areas, along with areas such as the underside of your bonnet, and the panel shuts, can be tackled in a similar way with a suitable (1:2 – 1:5) dilution of Verso All Purpose Cleaner.
