Getting yourself a deep, luscious show car finish, extreme water beading and plenty of protection from the elements, makes investing in the best quality product an absolute no brainer.

This is probably why our Signature Wax Collection has never been more popular, but you'd still be surprised how often any wax can be applied in a way that doesn't quite fulfil its full potential and, even worse, wasting your hard-earned cash along the way.

The truth is that waxes look amazing, but with the correct technique they can be made to look even better. Waxing the right way can, and will always, make all the difference, so here's some tips and tricks to show you can get the very best from yours…

Remember To Cleanse

Even after you've fully washed and decontaminated your paintwork, always cleanse each panel prior to applying a wax. Remember that supreme surface preparation underneath is the number one way to enhance the appearance of your final wax coats. Wax is simply a protection layer that levels the optical finish, giving a deep glossy look. What's important here is that the paintwork is as perfect as it can be prior to applying any wax.

A small amount of Rejuvenate, our glaze-based pre-wax paintwork cleanser will not only prepare the surface, making it the perfect base for allowing the wax to fully bond (and in turn, making your protection last longer). But, the cleansing solvents, glazing oils and light abrasives in this specially developed formula will also remove the most stubborn, ingrained contaminates.

Rejuvenate has been specifically designed to prepare for, and enhance the appliance of, our Signature Hard Waxes, but also works a great base for Glisten Spray Wax. Apply yours using a microfibre Polish Pad or Microfibre Applicator, working a single panel at a time, with light to medium pressure, before buffing off with a fresh microfibre cloth.

Load up your applicator. For our signature waxes we'd recommend a Waxmate XL or Wax Spot Pad (with a Handi Puck). Put your applicator in the pot and twist. Just a quarter turn should transfer plenty of wax to complete at least one panel. Remember that a little wax always goes a long way, any more is just a waste of wax

Start on your first panel, working in small, even circular motions. This will give you the best overall coverage. The goal is to spread the wax as thinly and evenly as possible.

After your first panel, move straight on to the second. This will give the wax on the first panel time to bond to the surface. With that in mind though, always be mindful of curing times, with some waxes you can apply to the whole car and buff off last, others should be completed panel by panel. Most of all though, never wax in the hot sun.

Then you can apply your wax to the third panel before buffing off the second. Continue this "leap frogging' process all around the car. Once you've completed the second panel, move back to the first and buff off any residue, then continue to buff to a deep shine. We always recommend using a Micro Tweed Buffing Towel for this process as the special pockets in the microfibre tweed fabric are designed to prevent any residue clogging on the paintwork.

Applying multiple coats, otherwise known as 'layering' will always give extra depth, wetness and protection, but remember that the previous coat must have time to fully cure, otherwise the process won't do much to enhance the appearance. Always leave at least 3-hours before attempting to add another coat of wax. Then you'll see a marked improvement.
