Detailing Academy’s: The Ultimate Professional Course

This year marks 20 years of Auto Finesse and so we opened the doors to our very first Detailing Academy in Bishop's Stortford, Hertfordshire.

The site is something special in itself, covering more than 4,000 square feet and housing two specialist detailing bays for full valeting and detailing, as well as playing host to some of the best detailing courses you'll find in the UK.

Our Professional Course, in particular, is an incredible offering allowing attendees to gain access to everything we know to become a pro detailer themselves.

What Is The Professional Course?

Our professional training courses are aimed at those looking to take the leap into the world of detailing as their chosen profession. You'll receive comprehensive detailer training from one of our master detailers across a course of 4- or 5-days.

The course guides you through an array of both theory and practical tuition, learning everything from correct prep procedures, complete paint correction, full machine polisher training, down to the most intricate of finishing details.

What Will You Learn?

Both the 4- and 5-day professional courses cover everything you need to know to be a detailer, but the extra day will inevitably give you more time with our seasoned professionals and more time on certain aspects.

The course has been designed by the team, along with Auto Finesse founder James Batty, who has by himself got more than 20 years' worth of experience under his belt, to train anyone wanting to do it as a job. You'll be taken through every aspect of a full detail, both in theory and hands-on, starting with the absolute beginning in the perfect prep, going through to the pre-wash stages, contact wash, all levels of decontamination, all waxes, coatings, as well as full professional machine polisher training, every aspect of the interior and engine bay, even down to the finer details that you probably wouldn't even think of. There'll be tips and tricks thrown your way throughout the week, without cutting corners! We even spend time talking about the business of detailing; looking at your local market, what your service plans are, what you should be offering and delving into the repeat business side of things.

Our Professional Course really is the absolute ultimate to get you started in your professional career in detailing.

What Else Is Included?

Upon completion of the Professional Course, you'll receive a full Auto Finesse certificate stating your successful completion. With both of our professional courses - the 4-day and the 5-day - food and accommodation is included in the cost.

We have our own coffee bar on site, along with catering that is made up of a fixed menu but can be altered to suit dietary and allergy requirements.

The site also houses a shop so at the end of your course you can easily purchase some of the products you've used during the day.
