Players Classic 2024

Those that know TeamAF will know that Players Classic is always one of the biggest shows on the UK calendar for us. And it’s for good reason, too. It’s easily one of the biggest, not to mention coolest, events ever conceived.

In fact, we’d go so far as to say that we love this show, and we always like to make an extra special effort to show that love to the organisers and, most importantly, you guys who turn up in your thousands. Now whether that’s our Datsun Drift Car making its debut at Players Classic 2023, our Liberty Walk S15 at Players 2022 or a whole load of other special stuff we’ve been doing over the many years we’ve been in attendance. What’s most important is that we’re always out in force and ready to support the guys as they take over the hollowed ground of Goodwood Racing Circuit.

This year was no exception, we’d be bringing a literal lorry load of our top projects and towing up both our fully-loaded AirStream Land Yacht and custom VW T2 Bus pop-up stores, just to keep everyone happy with more detailing products than ever before. In other words, keeping the team busy on the preparation side isn’t difficult for this particular weekender. Although we always like to make store that our detailers have a little extra time to help the car owners prep their show cars, too. After all you’re guaranteed to see the very best cars right here at Players Classic – and the best showstoppers deserve the best detailing products. Makes sense, right?

Now, what with all the logistics, setting up and the vehicle prep that goes into our part of Players Classic you’d be forgiven for thinking we stopped there… but that’s just not the Auto Finesse way! As well as all that we also laid on an extra special preview of some of our new detailing products and accessories this year, giving everyone the chance to get their hands on some new gear before it’s even hit our online store. After all, what could be a better place to launch our Summer 2024 Apparel collection, including our brand-new Finesse Racing Tee, than the mighty Goodwood, eh?

And of course, it’s not just what was on our stand that’s important, we had plenty of other top builds from the AF Project Fleet elsewhere around the event – when we said we were going to turn out in force for 2024, we weren’t joking!

Now obviously the big tarmac bit in the middle of Goodwood holds a rather special place in our hearts, we’ve been hitting this particular circuit for years now, in a selection of AF project cars, too – everything from our BMW M2 Competition to our Liberty Walk Super Silhouette S15. This year was no different and we not only rolled out our R32 Skyline GTR and Pandem Yaris GR, but the Datsun racecar was also on hand for a few super-smoky drift demos. Just to please the massive crowd.

And speaking of all-time crowd-pleasers, too. The legendary Project StepSide – our 1954 Chevy Pickup – was also out after a 2-year nut and bolt rebuild and completing a successful tour of Germany and Croatia. Phew!

Obviously it wasn’t just us making a supreme effort for the event this year, as always the cars on display were on another level. Most of all though, Players Classic is simply about the vibe.

There’s no doubt that it’s quite the unique atmosphere for a UK event and, although you’re guaranteed to see some of the best cars from around Europe, there’s a seriously laid-back approach to proceedings. With a mixture of track action and high-end static displays it’s like a premium car show, but somehow cooler than any other. In fact, Players Classic has to be experienced to be fully appreciated, so make sure you join us here at Goodwood for the next one.

Once again, and as you can plainly see, we had an amazing time at Goodwood for 2024 - that’s yet another successful Players Classic in the bag and, we have to say, one of the best yet. As we said, it's all about the vibe this event, and there’s no doubt they created one that’s going to be almost impossible to beat elsewhere this season.
